Introduction
You can automatically link your project-level issues with your Jira Epics. This article will walk you through how to accomplish this.
NOTE: This process requires you to have already configured a Jira issue tracker integration. Click here for instructions on how to do so if you haven't already.
Associate Your Jira Profile to Your Project
- Ensure there's an existing Epic in your Jira board, or create one if not.
- Hover over the Gear icon in the upper right, then select Issue Trackers from the dropdown:
- Click on the Jira Issue Tracker profile where you'd like to configure your Epic link.
- Scroll down to the 'Field Values' section for your issue tracker configuration, type in the project key that corresponds to your Epic into the 'Parent' field, then click 'Publish changes':
- Navigate to your Projects page and open a Project
- Hover over the gear icon in the upper left of the project's page, click the 'Issue Trackers...' option, then select the desired Issue Tracker from the Issue Tracker dropdown:
Create a New Issue Under the Epic
- Navigate to either the Threats or Countermeasures page using the dropdown in the top center of the project page.
- Click the ellipsis for the issue you'd like to link with your Epic, then select 'Create new issue':
- You can confirm the issue is created and synced by noting the change from 'Untracked' to a link to the issue key:
- You should now see the linked child issue under the parent Epic in your Jira board:
