Introduction

You can automatically link your project-level issues with your Jira Epics. This article will walk you through how to accomplish this.

NOTE: This process requires you to have already configured a Jira issue tracker integration. Click here for instructions on how to do so if you haven't already.

Associate Your Jira Profile to Your Project

1. Ensure there's an existing Epic in your Jira board, or create one if not.
2. Hover over the Gear icon in the upper right, then select Issue Trackers from the dropdown:

3. Click on the Jira Issue Tracker profile where you'd like to configure your Epic link.
4. Scroll down to the 'Field Values' section for your issue tracker configuration, type in the project key that corresponds to your Epic into the 'Parent' field, then click 'Publish changes':

5. Navigate to your Projects page and open a Project
6. Hover over the gear icon in the upper left of the project's page, click the 'Issue Trackers...' option, then select the desired Issue Tracker from the Issue Tracker dropdown:

Create a New Issue Under the Epic

1. Navigate to either the Threats or Countermeasures page using the dropdown in the top center of the project page.
2. Click the ellipsis for the issue you'd like to link with your Epic, then select 'Create new issue':

3. You can confirm the issue is created and synced by noting the change from 'Untracked' to a link to the issue key:

4. You should now see the linked child issue under the parent Epic in your Jira board:
