Analytics requires connectivity to IriusRisk postgresql database, and we configure that via the UI in Analytics. All IriusRisk SaaS customers will have this automatically configured upon using Analytics, however this article can serve as a guide for configuration for on-prem customers and it can help provide SaaS customers with knowledge around the Analytics configurations.
Where is IriusRisk Datasource Located?
Navigate to your Analytics instance and login - From the home dashboard, navigate to Queries > Data Sources > IriusRisk Datasource
How to Configure the Datasource?
Click the edit button at the right of the IriusRisk Darasource, then you will be presented with a screen similar to the one below:
Hostname: The hostname must be configured to the IP of the server running the IriusRisk PSQL database or if using a cloud provider database service then you must configure it with the correct database host i.e. if you decided to use an AWS RDS for the IriusRisk database then the hostname must be configured to use the endpoint of the RDS.
Database Name: This must be the name of the database you use for IriusRisk
User: This must be the name of the user that owns the IriusRisk database
Port: This will be 5432, as this is the port used by PSQL database server
Password: This is the password used for the IriusRisk database
How Do I Know I Have Database Connectivity Between IriusRisk and Analytics?
After configuring the settings above, use the 'Test Connectivity' button at the bottom - If the connection is successful you will be presented with the following success message:
If the connection is unsuccessful then you will be presented with the following error:
If the connection is unsuccessful then follow these steps:
- SaaS customers raise a ticket with IriusRisk Support
- On-prem customers, solidify your configuration is correct, ensure all ports are open between IriusRisk and Analytics and if everything looks correct then raise a ticket with IriusRisk Support
