Introduction
Jira allows us to create projects and issue types which a number of fields associated with them. One of these fields are 'Teams' which we will use in this article.
Objectives
- add the team field to our jira issue
- set a default team to assign an issue to
Jira
Below is an extract of what your issue type inside jira may look like.
If we wish to add this field, we can do so via the 'fields > search all fields' action menu on the right hand side.
IriusRisk
Once we have a working, integrated Jira configuration (Linking to Issue Trackers) we can add support for teams.
Firstly, lets navigate to the issue tracker settings at whatever scope we wish to configure a default team (global, project, countermeasure etc.) we will find a 'default values' section (this may be under 'Configure Issues').
we can simply choose 'Add Jira Issue field' which will pull all potential fields from our jira issue type inside that project.
From here, select 'Team'
this will add the team to allow us to select a default value.
From here we can simply type the team ID of the team we wish to set as the default value. Please note, we read the team id not the team name.
Below is an example of how this may look.
Conclusion
We have now set a default team for our jira tickets.
If we create a new issue, we should be able to see this has taken effect in our ticket in jira.
